Sharks in the Potomac River? Maybe “K Street” Sharks; all lobbyists and politicians from DC. This not-to-be-missed swim is just one of many in the growing Enviro-Sports Sharkfest Swim Series. The Potomac River offers both comfortable water (mid-70s) and air (70-80s) temperatures this time of year, making it a perfect swim venue. The 3km (~1.8 miles) swim starts at Aqua Land in Charles County, Maryland and goes parallel to the Harry Nice Bridge (Hwy 301) to finish at Dahlgren Wayside Park in King George County, Dahlgren, Virginia. The swim has been timed according to the local tidal conditions and will take place during a favorable tide. The event is limited to 500 participants, so don’t wait too long to register!
PLEASE NOTE: This swim is not for novices. This event is for experienced open-water swimmers only. You should be able to swim one mile comfortably in a pool in under 40 minutes.

Parking
There will be parking near the finish area ONLY in Barnesfield Park which is adjacent to the finish line in Dahlgren Wayside Park. Your entry fee includes a bus ride from the finish area to the start prior to the race. More details about this transportation will be posted later.
